An Interview With Jim Kay

The Letterpress Project has asked authors and illustrators to think about what has inspired them as artists, what their favourite books are and how they relate to their audience - we've also asked them if they themselves are book collectors.

We are thrilled to present an exclusive interview with the children's book illustrator, Jim Kay. Jim's new illustrations for the first two Harry Potter books have taken the book world by storm and a third - The Prisoner of Azkaban -  is in preparation. On his website Jim tells us that 'in addition to illustrating books, I have also produced installation pieces for galleries, and concept work for film and television. I love museums, old books, David Lean films, creepy crawlies, gardening and just about any music from any century.'

If you want to see more you can visit Jim's website here.
